At Last: The Catholic Church Finally Call the Police on a Priest
because he stole money from them.

Did they call the cops because of how he spent the money?
"The former pastor of a Waterbury church is accused of stealing $1.3 million dollars over the course of seven years, and using the money to pay for personal expenses, including hotel rooms, restaurants, clothing, and male escorts."
How come they didn't handle it internally?
"The investigation was launched last month after the archdiocese went to police."
Don't they have some sore of internal council to handle priestly transgressions? or is that only for raping kids?
